I love tortilla chips! But most of the tortilla chips you can buy in the supermarket are full of trans fats, color additives and other chemical ingredients. I don't like this, so once I made tortillas at home, I thought I had to try to make tortilla chips.

The recipe can't be easier, you cut the tortillas, bake them just 5 minutes and add your favorite spices! We added a little of olive oil before baking, but you can skip this step.

The result is amazing, a really CRUNCHY tortilla chips with a slightly spicy flavor because of the cayenne pepper. You can use almost any spice you have at home.

This recipe is ideal if you are a lactose intolerant or a celiac, because the tortillas are made of corn flour and the recipe doesn't include dairy products. Since a couple weeks ago, I try to avoid dairy products because I don't feel well after eating them and many packed tortilla chips contain cheese, but with this recipe I won't have that problem anymore.

We've also prepared our own vegan cheese dip that tastes awesome. It has the same texture and a very similar flavor, you won't believe it's not real cheese! The ingredients are so simple and healthy, but be careful, it's really addictive!

Question. I’m going to make the fresh tortilla recipe you have. But - I’m confused. Would I have to fry the tortilla first according to your recipe and then bake for the chips or can I just skip the fry part ( we dont have access to fry them, but we would to bake)

Hi Patty! You need to fry it first or use store-bought tortillas 🙂

Hi Izzy! It doesn't matter, I've tried different types of tortillas and the recipe works, but I prefer corn tortillas 😉 Have a nice day!

The Costco brand tortilla chips are gluten-free and organic, but would they also qualify as vegan? Thanks!

The spice mix is pretty doggone good, and although I use a different recipe for my tortillas (and a higher temperature of 450 degree F), this a keeper for turning them into chips. Many thanks! 🙂

Hi there! Great recipe, I'm a huge fan of of the tortilla chips with cheese sauce (especially when going to the cinema!) and I'm so happy to find a vegan version of it.

One question. by 4 tortillas you mean: fried on the skillet or just raw dough cut into triangles?

Hi Agy! I use raw tortillas cut into triangles 🙂 Then you can bake them and add the spices, it's super easy! You can buy them or use homemade tortillas 😀
