We love this recipe and have it each year as a starter for our vegan Christmas dinner. I do add a few drops of liquid smoke extract to the liquid

Hi David! I didn’t know about that recipe, but I’ve checked it out, and while there are some similarities, the ingredients and quantities are not exactly the same. It’s common for recipes to resemble each other. I hope you enjoyed this version!

This is very similar to a seitan steak recipe made on a collaboration video between bosh and happy pear.
